Vegas Tip: How to stay cool in 100+ weather

Las Vegas in the summer is ferocious 100 degrees and then some on most days from June through September, so staying cool is above and beyond necessary! If you are from a warmer, or cooler place, this desert sun effects everyone differently. The best thing to do is be prepared! I have been in Vegas for YEARS and I still feel all of the fire and brimstone every year. Here's a couple tips to keep you cool.

First off, I know everyone comes to Vegas dressed to the nines and ready for the perfect photo op at any available moment. BUT when packing for Vegas, think about the days you are going to spend walking the strip on 100+ degree weather and pack light colors and cotton if possible for those days. The lighter the colors the less it'll absorb the sunlight (heat), and the cotton helps pull the sweat from your body keeping you cool. Hats and sunshades are essentials!

Hydrate! It is so easy to skip water when there is a bar every 5 feet, but you have to find a way to fit it in here. There are filtered water fountains in the casinos, so you will be fine carrying your own tumbler and grabbing a refill whenever you can. Trust me, this will not only help keep you cool, but it'll help you keep the party going and prevent you from being the drunk passed out on the strip and ending up another one of our memes. You won't be able to take your own tumbler in the day or nightclubs, but ask for a cup of water at the bar or a "water back" during your next round of shots.

Target has this microfiber cooling towel, I have no idea how or why this freaking thing works, but it works to cool you down in a hurry.

Remember you can always take the free tram between the Mandalay bay and the Excalibur, then the paid Monorail from the MGM Grand all the way to the SLS then the Westgate and Las Vegas Convention Center. This can kill a ton of time out walking if you just want to get from one side to another without walking or getting an Uber.

Minus 5 Ice Bar is probably the BEST thing you can do to keep yourself cool. You can find this in the Mandalay Bay in the Mandalay Place. -5 degrees and everything is made of ice. It is a little slice of heaven in the summer!

Other than these things, take FULL advantage of your hotel pools, any cabana offers you can grab, and if you can't take the heat, please stay inside as much as possible. Locals get in free to a couple of hotel pools on certain days! These change regularly so I'll try to keep you updated on my social media pages.
